AI IDEs and AI Assistants. * Aider - Open-source terminal AI assistant. * Amazon Q - Amazon’s AI assistant. * Cline - Open-source VS Code plugin for Claude as a coding assistant. * CodeParrot - Frontend component AI assistant for VS Code. * CodeSquire - Browser extension for AI generation in Jupyter/BigQuery etc… * Cody - Sourcegraph’s coding assistant. * Continue - AI coding assistant for VS Code and JetBrains. * Cursor - A VS Code fork built from the ground up with AI. * Fine - Build Software with AI Agents. * GitHub Copilot - The “OG” AI IDE everyone heard about. Still kind of feels behind, but does integrate nicely with GitHub. * IntelliCode - Visual Studio’s AI offering from Microsoft. * JetBrains AI - JetBrains’s AI offering integrated into most of their IDEs. * Kilo Code - Fast, open-source AI coding agent for VS Code and JetBrains. * OpenHands - an open-source Devin alternative. * Qodo - Focusing on confident code generation (focused on testing well). * Replit AI - Replit’s code IDE using AI (has also a free limited plan). * Supermaven - Heard really good things, especially around speed and context length. * Tabby - Self-hosted open-source coding assistant.
